Q: DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
A: I am not a fully licensed therapist I am a therapist under supervision all services offered on this site are coaching/consultation neither of which are covered by insurance companies. However, I do accept paypal, venmo, and bank transfer. Insurance companies require a diagnosis I am not legally allowed to treat, diagnose, or assess any mental health outside of agency/private practice supervision. However, given my education/work experience if I see that acquiring more clinical mental health support would benefit the client then I would refer them to the appropriate professional.
Q: ARE THERE ANY SPECIFIC ISSUES THAT YOU DO NOT SUPPORT?
A: Absolutely. I certainly do not consider myself (and cannot be) an expert in every area of concern. I consider it my professional responsibility to refer clients out for specific needs that should be treated by colleagues of mine with special training in those areas. With new clients, I have a 30-minute free consult to determine if working together is a good fit for both of us. I also maintain an open communication policy if current clients or I feel that our sessions have reached a plateau, then I would be more than happy to provide outside resources to support the client's wellness journey appropriatley.
Q: WHAT’S YOUR OPINION ON MEDICATION?
A: Ultimately, medication is a personal decision. My training at the University of Southern California was based in a holistic perspective, so in general, I am not a pusher of medication unless entirely necessary. If you are experiencing significant impairment in your life and having trouble making progress without it, I will recommend a psychiatry referral. I view medication as a supportive agent to doing good work together. If your symptoms are severe enough to prevent progress in our work, medication can be a very helpful supplement in order to reach your goals. I honor and respect each individual client’s choice. If you would like a medication referral, I can recommend psychiatrists that I know and trust.
Q: HOW LONG WILL WELLNESS COACHING TAKE?
A: This really depends on your needs. Every client’s circumstances are different. Some clients come in looking for solution-based support taking only a few sessions, and others come in seeking a long-term supportive relationship. We will discuss the frequency of visits that best fits your needs. In general, I recommend beginning with regular visits to build momentum and then evaluating progress and adjusting as we go.
Q: DO YOU OFFER VIRTUAL (VIDEO) SESSIONS?
A: Yes! I reserve several slots in my schedule for tele-wellness clients because I value client accessibility and convenience. Virtual video sessions are conducted with Zoom, an app, that is easily downloadable to your phone, tablet, or computer.
